TYR 2 DIGITAL CONNECTION CABLE

Nordost Tyr 2 S / PDIF and AES / EBU digital cables are manufactured with the latest technology, in compliance with standards and with precision workmanship. This particular attention paid to the cables during the production phase guarantees the tight wave impedance tolerance necessary to ensure greater musical detail that is virtually unaffected by timing errors or destructive jitter.

Both the 75-ohm and the 110-ohm cable consist of silver-plated solid core conductors that are suspended in the dual mono-filament technology patented by Nordost, creating a virtual air dielectric. Both cables also benefit from the implementation of mechanically tuned lengths that have been carefully calculated to reduce internal microphony and high frequency impedance resonances in the cable. The combination of these technologies results in cables with the extreme bandwidth necessary to achieve lossless data transmission.

The function of these two cables is determined by their differences in design and construction. Tyr 2 75 ohm S / PDIF digital interconnects use a coaxial design and are terminated with gold-plated Neutrik BNC plugs for correct impedance matching.

All Tyr 2 75 Ohm interconnects are supplied with gold-plated cinch adapters to fulfill their function. Tyr 2 110 Ohm AES / EBU digital interconnects use a twinaxial design and are terminated with gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors to ensure constant impedance across all wiring and terminations.
