Hegel A200 and H200 – Two Paths to Authentic Music Enjoyment

Two new integrated amplifiers, one common goal: to reproduce music as unadulterated as possible. With the A200 and H200, Hegel expands its portfolio with two amplifiers that meet different requirements of modern HiFi systems. Both models rely on a powerful Class A/B amplifier section with 2 × 150 watts at 8 Ohms and Hegel's patented SoundEngine2 technology. While the A200 adheres to a consistently analog concept, the H200 combines amplification, DAC, and extensive streaming features in an integrated solution. Two approaches that consider different listening habits and pursue the same goal: precise, dynamic, and natural music reproduction.

Hegel A200 – The Classical Approach

The Hegel A200 is aimed at music lovers looking for a powerful analog amplifier solution with a clearly defined scope of application. Its Class A/B amplifier section, the SoundEngine2 technology, and the DualAmp and DualPower architecture form the basis for controlled signal processing and high performance reserves. With two balanced XLR inputs, two RCA inputs, an integrated MM phono input, and a headphone output, the A200 offers versatile connectivity options without extending the signal path with an integrated streaming platform. Thus, it is suitable for demanding setups where external sources and separate components determine the system configuration.

Hegel H200 – The Connected Approach

The Hegel H200 combines the powerful amplifier technology of the brand with the possibilities of modern digital music playback. In addition to the integrated DAC and network streaming, an MM phono input, a headphone output, and direct playback from USB storage media are available. Streaming services such as Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect, and Qobuz Connect, along with Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, and Roon Ready, open diverse possibilities for music access. At the same time, SoundEngine2 and the powerful analog amplifier section ensure control of the connected speakers. Thus, the H200 combines numerous functions in a central component without losing sight of amplification as the core task.

SoundEngine2 – Precision in the Signal Path

Both models utilize Hegel's patented SoundEngine2 technology to reduce distortion. The local feedforward system addresses unwanted deviations directly at their source and reduces them in real-time. In conjunction with an output power of 150 watts per channel, stability down to 2 Ohms, and a damping factor of over 4000, both amplifiers are designed for precise control of the speakers. The result is an amplifier architecture that combines performance reserves and controlled signal processing.
