Ultimate technology. Unique concept. Outstanding performance. This integrated amplifier meets the highest professional and audiophile requirements. The best that can power a headphone.

Headphone amplifier HA 200

2020 marks the year in which T+A introduces a new product world: headphones. With the same consistency, systematic approach and dedication that is shown in the development of audio systems and loudspeakers, they build up a range of the most innovative headphones and headphone amplifiers. The first headphone amplifier model is the HA 200. It benefits from T+A's enormous know-how and decades of experience in the development and manufacture of amplifiers and converters.

They didn't simply use existing technologies, but further developed and optimized them for the special requirements of headphones. This not only created a device that has never existed in this form before, but also a completely new standard in terms of sound quality, performance, connection options and design. The HA 200 combines the requirements of professional users from studio technology with those of audiophile music lovers who want to use several headphones on just one device.

concept

The headphone amplifiers should achieve optimal sound results and therefore they are developed specifically for either dynamic and magnetostatic or electrostatic headphones. With this decision, T+A takes the completely different requirements of the output stages into account. The HA 200 was conceived for dynamic and magnetostatic headphones and its entire circuit topology and technology is designed for the special requirements of these converter types. This is the only way to achieve truly unique sound results. In contrast to speakers, headphones have a much wider range of impedances, which poses a real challenge for the amplifier.

With low impedance you require a high current, with high impedance the current is rather small, ie the power supply must be very stable on the one hand and the voltage must be relatively high on the other. Therefore, the output stage should deliver high currents, while at the same time the transformers and power supply must be extremely hard and stable.

Various exits are served

In addition, the HA 200 amplifier has a circuit that allows different output impedances to be freely selected for each of the three outputs (6.3 mm jack, 4.4 mm Pentaconn, XLR 4-pin), so that the headphones can be optimally adapted to individual sound ideas.

Headphone amplifier in action

The field of application of headphone amplifiers has changed a lot in recent years: in the past they were primarily used at the analog output of a stereo system and used their sources, today, in contrast, they are very often purebred stand - alone devices. That's why T+A not only equips the headphone amplifiers with very good analog inputs, but also installs excellent digital inputs and converters that enable the use of a wide variety of digital sources in the highest quality. Analog and digital sections are completely galvanically isolated and have their own power supplies.

The aim was to build a headphone amplifier that would meet the very high sound requirements. The result is an optimal special device in which even the smallest sound influences in the analog part of the amplifier are excluded by doing without built-in digital sources.

Due to the diverse, high-quality connection options on the input and output side, the HA 200 is not only suitable for music enthusiasts, but is also well prepared for professional use.
