The Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T has a CD-Pro 8 drive with the 'Blue Tiger' CD 84 servo control from StreamUnlimited, which was designed specifically for playing CDs according to the Red Book standard. The Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T is the first CD player ever to use this reissued CD-Pro 8 CD drive. With the Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T, the audio data can be transmitted from the CD drive to the external converter via an I 2 S interface in addition to the usual digital outputs (optical, coaxial and symmetrical). The audio data and the clock signal are processed separately in the I 2 S-Bus. The transmission to the D/A converter takes place via an HDMI cable. Compared to data transmission with a standard digital cable and subsequent conventional digital signal processing, this leads to significantly less jitter (phase jitter) in the audio signal.

The optimal and logical partners for the Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T are the preamplifier Pro-Ject Pre Box RS2 Digitalwith its integrated D/A converter and the reference D/A converter Pro-Ject DAC Box RS2 – ideally, the devices are connected to each other via the I 2 S interface. This guarantees almost jitter-free data transmission between the transport and the D/A converter.

A hot tip for even better sound is the external linear power pack Pro-Ject Power Box RS Uni 1-way. Its copper foil shielding around the primary winding of the toroidal transformer reliably shields the device connected to the power supply from interference components from the power supply. A high-performance toroidal transformer guarantees high current delivery capability. Very practical: If the connected device is switched on, it can be easily switched on and off with a switching operation on the Pro-Ject Power Box RS Uni 1-way.

Note : The Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T is purely a drive without a D/A converter. An external D/A converter is required for operation. In addition, all Pro-Ject CD boxes only play CDs that comply with the official Red Book standard.
