Progressive Audio CD 2: Digital Precision in the Service of Music

The faithful reconstruction of an analog music signal from a digital data structure places the highest demands on signal processing. The Progressive Audio CD 2 meets this challenge not with flashy effects or spectacular timbres, but with uncompromising technical precision. It was developed to reveal the potential stored on the compact disc without loss, coloration, or sonic artifacts – as a tribute to the work of musicians and sound engineers.

Consistent dual-mono design in Pure Class A

The CD 2's circuit design is based on fully symmetrical signal routing across the entire analog and digital signal path. The strict dual-mono design guarantees complete channel separation, resulting in precise spatial imaging and stable depth of field.

The output stages operate in pure Class A mode . This prevents crossover distortion from the outset and ensures exceptionally linear transmission characteristics, both measurably and audibly. Furthermore, the modular design of the components ensures the platform remains future-proof and easy to service.

Flexibility and signal integrity

In addition to its function as a precision drive and converter for the Compact Disc, the CD 2 offers a dedicated digital XLR input . This allows the connection of another digital signal source, which fully benefits from the high-precision internal D/A conversion and the analog Class-A output stage.

For optimal connection to the subsequent amplifier electronics, robust Furutech connectors are used for balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) signal connections. They guarantee minimal contact resistance and long-term corrosion-free contact.
