McIntosh MEN220AC

Room Correction Processor

The new MEN220AC room correction system offers a powerful tool for problematic rooms, as well as the possibility of a 2-way crossover for real bi-amping. The MEN220AC contains a powerful microprocessor that exploits the maximum possibilities of digital frequency correction. With the microphone connected, he creates a digital model of the listening room, called Room Knowledge™.

With this data, measured and stored at multiple points in the room, the MEN220AC corrects any room anomalies and generates a perfect frequency response. The user can also save personal preferences on 6 station buttons and call them up using the remote control. An exceptional feature is the built-in 'Smart Crossover' function: The MEN220AC can also be used as a real 2-way crossover.

All parameters such as Butterworth filters, first, second and fourth order or Linkwitz-Riley filters, second, fourth and eighth order can be set depending on the application. A subwoofer can also be controlled in a new, perfect way. The system detects phase errors and corrects them, an often underestimated problem of loudspeakers and rooms. The possibilities of the new McIntosh room correction are limitless! A problem solver in the typical McIntosh outfit, with simple and intuitive use. A new chapter in McIntosh's 60-year history.
