Fraim rack system
(The picture shows an example rack consisting of the Fraim Base and three Fraim STD assembly levels. The article price corresponds to this example configuration).
What is the Fraim rack system?
The Faim Rack System is a hi-fi shelving system that provides a stylish way to display and store your Naim components. It is excellent for Naim components. If you want to place components from other manufacturers in this rack, please contact us beforehand, as mechanical problems could arise. Resonances are minimized by the isolation of the individual levels, so that you can get the best out of your devices and thus out of the music enjoyment. The well thought-out construction of the Fraim rack creates the best conditions for your Naim components to deliver absolute brilliant performance.
You are asked: What should your rack look like?
You have a lot of freedom when assembling the rack. However, a lot of freedom also means a lot of decisions that have to be made. You can decide the number of tiers, the space you need between tiers for your equipment, and the color of the side panels and rack bases.
Construction details, adapted to your needs
A Fraim rack consists of the base level and, if you like, several assembly levels. The levels of the fraim are isolated from each other by spikes and plates. In addition, the base plane isolates the entire rack from the floor by means of two frames. In addition, each level has a glass floor that rests on three decoupling spheres and dissipates mechanical energy.
From the stainless steel spikes to the galvanized steel nuts and threaded rods that hold everything together - all components of the Fraim were selected according to sound criteria.
All these connection points minimize the contact surfaces so that there is no transmission of vibrations.
The construction levels:
- EXT build level: 254mm usable height between levels
- MED build level: 180mm usable height between levels
- STD build level: 105mm usable height between levels
Each assembly level is supplied with a glass shelf. This not only looks classy, but also minimizes the resonants.
The colors:
The side panels can be supplied in natural aluminum or in black. You have a little more choice when it comes to the color of the floors. Decide between:
- light ash
- ash black
- cherry light
- cherry dark
Fraim vs Fraimlite
Naim uses two different rack models: Fraim and Fraimlite. The Fraim rack is absolute high-end, a reference and gets the best out of your components. Fraimlite is intended more for entry-level systems as there are more and larger contact points between the levels. The structure of Fraim and Fraimlite differs greatly in some cases. Nevertheless, they can be combined with each other if you only need one Fraimlite level for certain components.

Finally: the technology
When developing the Fraim, for the first time the entire know-how of a high-end audio manufacturer was applied to the construction of a rack. The Fraim lets your system sound more detailed and precise because it corresponds to the Naim principle, according to which the fundamental parameters of music have the highest priority: pitch accuracy, timing and dynamics.
By minimizing the contact areas of all connection points, the Fraim prevents the transmission of mechanical energy. This also applies to the smallest vibrations that are generated in the devices by airborne noise or by power supplies. At the same time, the stability of the construction ensures that the decoupling devices in the devices themselves function optimally. The distances between the levels also minimize the mutual influence of the components caused by magnetic fields.
The choice of materials is just as important with the Fraim as the construction itself. Hardened stainless steel, sound-selected safety glass, extruded aluminum side panels and veneered composite material all contribute to a rack that offers both outstanding sound performance and Naim-typical design.
