With its innovative concept based on the BBC studio loudspeaker Falcon Acoustics LS 3/5a, the passive compact loudspeaker LS50 brings the professional studio experience into your house.

Patent-pending acoustic design elements combine with technologies from KEF's flagship Blade series to create a studio-like sound experience even in the smallest of spaces.

The LS50 uses the latest Uni-Q drivers, specially developed for this model, the arrangement of the tweeter in the center of the mid-bass driver that is so characteristic of KEF speakers. These drivers enable an extremely large optimal listening area, also known as the sweet spot. Unwanted noises (resonances) produced by the loudspeaker housing are practically impossible. What remains is pure and unadulterated sound.

Sit Anywhere UniQ Sound

The Uni-Q driver places the tweeter in the middle of the midrange and realizes the acoustic ideal of a point sound source more than ever. The result, enhanced by KEF's Tangerine' waveguide - placed above the tweeter - is a more accurate three-dimensional sound that's evenly distributed across the room.

Innovative housing design

The housing is extremely low-resonance due to the use of additional insulating materials between the housing, the internal components and the driver itself. The front, which is symmetrically shaped in all directions, prevents any distortion of the sound image. The flow port on the back prevents unnatural bass reproduction.

Patented technology

A large ferrite magnet drives a relatively small chassis. Due to the use of aluminum, the chassis is extremely stable even under high loads. The membrane itself is a mixture of magnesium and aluminum and delivers extremely clean reproduction over the entire frequency range.

The LS50 was released as KEF's 50th anniversary as Monitor's flagship speaker. Since then it has received countless awards and has become the best-selling loudspeaker in the compact class. Its popularity is unbroken to this day and its timeless design makes it suitable for every living room.
