The OM 5S is a general purpose moving magnet cartridge
If your tonearm has a standard headshell or pickup mount, you can achieve optimal sound reproduction with the OM's. A look at one of these pickups reveals Ortofon's answer to perfectly matching a tonearm. A tiny, removable weight plate is hidden in the upper part of the bracket.

If your tonearm is a standard tonearm, just leave the weight plate where it is. If your tonearm is a low mass tonearm, simply remove the weight. The mass of your OM pickup is then only 2.5 g.

The OM 5S features a spherical stylus, a robust and economical solution for playing vinyl records.
