Since the company was founded in 1986, the development and manufacture of phono preamplifiers has always been the focus of attention at AVM. For several decades, our phono preamplifiers have regularly received awards and reference titles worldwide. We continuously test, work out and refine the tonal performance in countless listening sessions and as a result we present a completely new phono stage with the PH 30.3.

The sensitive micro-signal amplifiers for RIAA pre-equalization require very special attention, because the very smallest electrical signals are processed here in the entire audio chain, often only a few µV (10 -6 volts). The tiniest mistakes have a big impact, and the most careful signal processing has a particularly extensive effect on the sound. In addition, with our ROTATION turntable models and our own AVM.3 Cadenza MC pickups (made by Ortofon), we also have high-performance pickups in-house. From this you can already guess the enormous care that the development team with trained ears takes to build a phono preamplifier with excellent sound, which can also be combined with high-end components at the very highest level. We at AVM have not only built up know-how that has been tried and tested over decades and is valued worldwide - our production methods also ensure extremely precise production quality in series production.

The PH 30.3 is suitable for amplifying the smallest signals from MC and optionally also from MM systems. Separate connections are available for this. Switches (so-called DIP switches) that are insufficient in terms of sound are deliberately avoided. In order to be able to ideally adapt the MC pickup system of your choice to the PH 30.3, 100/200/1000O load adapters are included in the scope of delivery. These load adapters are also equipped with gold-plated connectors and are therefore effectively protected against aging processes (eg corrosion due to humidity). Which value is recommended for your system can be found in the documentation of your pick-up system or ask the manufacturer. Phono load adapters are plugged into the designated sockets parallel to the MC systems.

Special features of the PH 30.3

With the PH 30.3 we rely on sound-optimized circuits from our repertoire and borrow from the current phono preamps of the OVATION Line. We have paid particular attention to shortening the signal paths up to the first amplification stage in order to be able to ideally protect the very small signals to be processed from electromagnetic interference. In contrast to the two predecessors P1.2 and P30, we now use completely newly developed amplification circuits and use new, exquisite and finely selected amplification components. The layout was developed in our state-of-the-art CAD design systems and the signal path could be shortened by almost 80%.

The making of

The solid aluminum housing made from a thick extruded profile, which is made exclusively for us, effectively protects the special circuit board from external mechanical influences and microphonic effects. Extensive quality control is a matter of course for us, which safeguards our production standards and comes with a 2-year guarantee, with an additional 2 years if the PH 30.3 is registered online.
