The meticulous work of the Marantz sound engineers, the sound competence cultivated over generations, technical innovations and the legendary Marantz hi-fi tradition have flowed into the MODEL 30. The fully analog concept is characterized by a fully discrete two-stage design with independent power supplies for the preamp and power amp. The circuitry dedicated to the preamplifier stage allows for a stable power supply that is independent of the power drawn by the power amp. An oversized toroidal transformer, which is exclusively responsible for the preamp, ensures high sound purity. The intricate steel case that encloses the transformer suppresses flux leakage to prevent electrical noise generation in the peripheral circuits.

The power supply for the output stage delivers high voltages to the switching amplifier without delays. Clean power supply for the finest details: This design ensures maximum control of the connected loudspeakers of any kind. Even strong bass can be mastered effortlessly. The absolute signal purity ensures outstanding audio quality.

The amplifier also features a phono stage for Moving Coil (MC) and Moving Magnet (MM) cartridges, Marantz Musical Premium Phono EQ circuitry and Marantz HDAM technology for record playback at the highest level. Thanks to the integrated MC preamplifier, the phono EQ preamp in the MODEL 30 can be used with both MM and MC cartridges with low output voltage. Two-stage gain in the phono stage reduces distortion. In the input stage, Marantz HDAMs are combined with Junction Field Effect Transistors (JFET) resulting in a high input impedance. The elimination of coupling capacitors further simplifies the design, reduces signal distortion, and improves signal purity. The MODEL 30 is also equipped with an input impedance selector switch that allows three settings: MC LOW (33 ohms), MC MID (100 ohms) and MC HIGH (390 ohms). This improves the sound performance with both MC and MM pickups.

The MODEL 30 continues the Marantz tradition and uses proprietary, discretely constructed HDAMs (Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules): This complex construction offers an unrivaled musical and as clean and detailed a sound as possible. With controlled surface-mount discrete components and short, mirror-image paths for the left and right signal path, the HDAMs outperform conventional integrated operational amplifiers and achieve outstanding sound quality and performance.
