Gold Note Giglio – High-end turntable with B-5.2 tonearm and resonance-optimized three-layer chassis
The Gold Note Giglio combines Italian craftsmanship with sophisticated turntable technology, incorporating numerous design solutions from the Italian manufacturer's larger reference models. Its elegant appearance is paired with a construction focused on high mechanical stability, precise rotational control, and effective resonance damping. Handcrafted in Italy, the Giglio is aimed at discerning vinyl enthusiasts who value high-quality materials, meticulous workmanship, and dynamic, detailed sound reproduction.
A particular strength of the Gold Note Giglio is its elaborately constructed three-layer chassis made of Italian walnut, acrylic, and stainless steel. The different materials complement each other in terms of rigidity and damping, creating a stable foundation for precise record playback. At the same time, the Italian walnut lends the turntable a warm and exclusive look, while the acrylic and stainless steel add modern accents. This results in a successful combination of technical functionality and Italian material aesthetics.
The Giglio comes standard with a Gold Note B-5.2 precision tonearm. This 9-inch tonearm is designed for precise and stable cartridge guidance and perfectly complements the resonance-optimized construction of the turntable. As a result, the turntable offers a high-quality foundation for demanding analog playback systems right from the start.
Three height-adjustable aluminum spike feet ensure maximum stability. They allow for precise adjustment to the surface and simultaneously support the mechanical decoupling of the turntable. This effectively reduces unwanted external influences, allowing the Giglio to fully realize its design advantages under optimal conditions.
The turntable is driven by a 12-volt synchronous motor with electronic speed control. Switching between 33 and 45 RPM is smooth and precise. The belt drive further contributes to the turntable's quiet and controlled operation. With a wow and flutter of 0.2% and a rumble of -76 dB, the Giglio offers a solid technical foundation for stable analog playback.
The 23 mm thick POM platter weighs 3 kg. Due to its mechanical properties, POM is particularly well-suited for platter construction and supports controlled playback. Combined with the precise belt drive and the resonance-optimized chassis, this results in a well-balanced turntable designed for smooth operation and precise tracking.
Sonically, the Gold Note Giglio presents itself as dynamic, direct, and exceptionally precise. Its rapid response lends the music playback plenty of energy and drive, while the high resolution makes even the finest musical details clearly discernible. The turntable is particularly impressive in the bass range, delivering a controlled and well-defined performance. Low frequencies sound precise and powerful without any unnecessary muddiness, making rhythmically demanding music especially compelling.
In the treble range, the Giglio delivers a finely resolved and expansive soundstage. Subtle details and dynamic nuances are clearly rendered without the playback sounding unnecessarily analytical or fatiguing. At the same time, the turntable maintains a natural and musically cohesive character.
Spatial imaging is another strength of the Gold Note Giglio. Voices and instruments are positioned stably in the soundstage, while impressive width and depth create a spacious and immersive soundstage. Fast transients and subtle dynamic shifts are reproduced with precision, lending the music added vibrancy.
Furthermore, the Giglio offers interesting upgrade potential. The turntable can be optionally upgraded with the Gold Note B-7 Ceramic precision tonearm. The external Gold Note PST-10 power supply is also available as an expansion option, opening up additional possibilities for further optimization of the turntable.
Visually, the Gold Note Giglio is available in several high-quality finishes. Customers can choose from walnut/matte black, white/matte black, and gold leaf. This allows the turntable to be harmoniously integrated into a variety of living and listening environments. The combination of natural materials, precise craftsmanship, and distinctive Italian design makes the Giglio an elegant and technically sophisticated component of a high-end hi-fi system.
With its resonance-optimized three-layer construction, standard B-5.2 tonearm, precise synchronous motor, and versatile upgrade options, the Gold Note Giglio offers a compelling combination of high-quality craftsmanship, dynamic music reproduction, and Italian design. As a handcrafted, high-end turntable, it provides a solid foundation for demanding analog systems and combines technical precision with a distinctive, modern sound.
