Building on a solid foundation of trusted AQ technologies, Garth and Bill focused specifically on solving one of the most challenging problems in speaker cable design: the mismatch between the amplifier's source impedance and the speaker's load impedance.

All previous attempts to solve this problem have been aimed at bringing the characteristic impedance of the loudspeaker cable to a value closer to the loudspeaker's nominal impedance. All of these attempts failed because a speaker's impedance changes with frequency and the amplifier's output impedance is something entirely different.

By eliminating the characteristic impedance of Mythical Creatures speaker cable, current compression and signal transient distortion is significantly reduced. The result is dynamic contrast, transient response, and bass attack that are presented seemingly effortlessly.

FULL RAGE OR BI-WIRING

These new Mythical Creatures ZERO speaker cables can be used in two ways: either as ideal full range cables or combined with a dedicated BASS cable in a BiWire cable arrangement with unmatched performance. ThunderBird, FireBird, and Dragon BASS cables utilize our patented common-mode noise-cancellation technology, providing an audibly dramatic additional reason to bi-wire when possible.

SPADES OR BANANAS

Often the choice between using spade or banana plugs on your speaker cables comes down to personal preference. AudioQuest spades and bananas use the same base metal, superior plating, and no metal-to-metal bonds, resulting in parts of the same quality. However, the EU compliant isolated terminals used in some power amplifiers often make it difficult or impossible to tighten spade lugs with high torque or pressure.
