The Anthem AVM 70 8K is an AV processor for high-quality home theater and multi-channel systems. It combines a redesigned electronics platform with modern HDMI 2.1 technology and integrated room correction. Its architecture is designed for precise signal processing, high system flexibility, and stable integration into complex setups.

Revised electronics platform

The internal architecture of the AVM 70 has been fundamentally optimized compared to previous generations. Improved signal routing and increased computing power ensure faster processing speeds and reduced interference.

These adjustments enable stable and consistent playback even with demanding multi-channel formats.

High-resolution digital-to-analog conversion

The AVM 70 uses DACs with a resolution of up to 32 bits / 768 kHz. These enable precise conversion of digital audio signals with high dynamic range and detail.

The signal processing design aims for low distortion and consistent playback across all channels.

Support for object-based audio formats

The processor supports current multi-channel formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced.

These enable three-dimensional sound imaging, in which individual audio objects are precisely positioned in space. The AVM 70 processes this data with high accuracy and passes it on to external power amplifiers accordingly.

ARC® Genesis room correction

With Anthem Room Correction (ARC®) Genesis, the AVM 70 integrates a system for acoustic optimization of the listening room.

A measuring microphone is used to analyze room acoustics and loudspeaker behavior, allowing for targeted correction. Multiple profiles can be saved and flexibly recalled depending on the application.

8K HDMI 2.1 platform

The AVM 70 features an HDMI 2.1 platform with seven inputs and three outputs, including eARC. It supports resolutions up to 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz.

In addition, current standards such as HDR10+, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) are supported. Signal transmission occurs without additional processing steps, thus ensuring lossless transmission.

Multi-channel architecture and system integration

The processor supports configurations with up to 15 speakers and two subwoofers (15.2). This makes it suitable for extensive home theater installations with object-based audio formats.

In combination with power amplifiers such as the Anthem MCA 525 Gen 2 or other models of the MCA series, the system can be flexibly scaled and adapted to different requirements.

Streaming and connectivity

The AVM 70 offers integrated streaming functions via Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth.

These enable access to local content and streaming services, as well as direct control via mobile devices.

Operation and control

Control is via a web-based user interface as well as via the Anthem Remote App.

Additionally, IP and RS-232 interfaces are available for integration into home automation systems. Corresponding drivers enable integration into common platforms.

System integration and automation

The AVM 70 is designed for integration into complex control systems and is compatible with various automation solutions.

The architecture enables centralized control of audio zones, sources, and playback settings within a networked system.

Construction and power supply

The internal power supply is designed for stable voltage provision and low interference.

In combination with structured signal routing, this contributes to consistent overall performance and the minimization of noise.
