With their high-gloss glass surface, the loudspeakers appear both elegant and timeless. The cabinet is constructed from a glass-MDF sandwich. This multi-layered design is highly torsionally rigid and prevents sound-degrading partial vibrations. Thanks to its clever design, the Classic 15 effortlessly reaches deep bass registers and produces the authenticity that makes music emotionally tangible.
The two-and-a-half-way system operates in a vented enclosure. The bass reflex port is located above the solid base and radiates downwards, ensuring even coupling to the room. This makes setup straightforward. Unlike traditional bass reflex tubes, the Classic 15 is free of port noise, thanks to an extremely rigid, fine-pored ceramic plate that forms the actual bass reflex port.
The Classic 15 speakers demonstrate their technological sophistication through their chassis technology. For the first time, the unique Audio Physic double-basket design is used in the Classic series. This pioneering construction drastically reduces the mechanical transmission of micro-vibrations between the driver and the cabinet.
Both the woofer and mid-woofer feature fiberglass cones. However, the surround, motor, and voice coil are optimized for their respective frequency ranges to achieve clear, faithful reproduction. The midrange driver incorporates a fixed phase plug, which improves ventilation of the moving system. This meticulous attention to detail benefits the crucial midrange frequencies, where our hearing is particularly sensitive and immediately detects any coloration. The Classic 15, however, reproduces timbres and voices with a naturalness and clarity previously only achievable in higher price ranges.
The tweeter's oscillation system in the Classic 15 is also elaborately ventilated, ensuring that the fabric dome, manufactured by a specialist German company, always operates under ideal conditions, even under heavy load. Thanks to its powerful drive and low resonance, the tweeter achieves exemplary signal fidelity well beyond the limits of human hearing. A small, horn-shaped waveguide surrounds the actual dome, ensuring a seamless transition between midrange and treble. This allows you to enjoy music comfortably even outside the so-called sweet spot.
Naturally, the Classic 15 can also be optionally equipped with the modern VCF II Magnetic M8 feet. These guarantee perfect decoupling from the floor and protect sensitive surfaces.
