Proven, improved

STAX has never followed short-lived trends, and with the replacement of the STAX SRM-007t II and SRM-727 II driver amplifiers, which have been successful since 2006, STAX remains true to itself and this motto. The two new driver amplifiers SRM-700T and SRM-700S benefit from the technologies from the flagship SRM-T8000: In the new tube driver amplifier SRM-700T, which does not require an output transformer (OTL), STAX uses two double triodes of type 6SN7 and non-inductive winding resistors from Vishay Co. as well as custom-made low-noise dual FETs in the first amplifier stage, which are also used in the transistor sibling STAX SRM-700S. It was there that STAX implemented J-FETs in the second amplifier stage of a STAX driver amplifier for the very first time. J-FETs are suitable for particularly low-noise amplification of even the most power-hungry transducers.

In this way, STAX catapults the performance of both models far beyond their price range. STAX has also modernized the look of the amplifiers and tailored an extremely elegant dress to the body.

The SRM-700S is the sonic alternative to the STAX SRM-700T on the same extremely high quality level. In comparison, a little less colorful and resolving, but more controlled and tighter in the bass.

The STAX SRM-700S can operate two STAX headphones at the same time.

STAX electrostatic headphone driver amplifiers can be driven from the recording output (Tape/Record Out or Fixed Out) or from another fixed level output (Pre Out/Fixed Out) of a preamplifier or integrated amplifier. Of course, a CD player or a turntable with a separate phono preamplifier can also be used directly as the signal source. The music signal present at the input of the driver amplifier can be looped through, so you can supply another device with music signals. If a source device is to be connected digitally, a separate D/A converter is required. The connection is either asymmetrical or symmetrical.
