sonoro AMPLIFIER – Compact Hi-Res Streaming Amplifier

The sonoro AMPLIFIER is a highly integrated amplifier and streaming solution for passive hi-fi and in-ceiling speakers. The device is designed for both classic hi-fi setups in living areas and professional 19" rack installations.

Signal processing & amplification

• Amplifier power: The amplifier uses a highly efficient Class-D power amplifier and delivers 2 x 250 watts at 4 ohms to drive a wide variety of speaker architectures.
• Digital-to-analog conversion: A built-in ESS SABRE DAC handles precise signal conversion at all analog outputs. The sound tuning was developed by the manufacturer in collaboration with audio engineer Rainer Finck.
• PureGain technology: The digital volume control reduces the background noise by 20 dB compared to conventional digital attenuators.

Tone control & DSP:

Bass, treble and balance can be adjusted manually.

The Advance mode offers a 7-band equalizer as well as enhanced bass management (2.2 configuration).

An adaptive loudness function and optimized EQ presets for sonoro speakers are also available.

Streaming & Network Integration

• Protocols & Services: The device natively supports streaming services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, and Deezer. The amplifier can also be controlled wirelessly via Apple AirPlay and Google Cast.
• sonoro Multiroom (Audio-over-IP): Using the wired Audio-over-IP solution, the amplifier integrates up to 32 devices of the latest sonoro generation (e.g., MAESTRO Quantum, MEISTERSTÜCK Gen.2, AVATON) into a local network without loss of quality and in perfect synchronization. Control can be individual or grouped.

Smart Home & TV Integration

• Smart Home Integration: Interfaces enable connection to system providers such as Busch-Jaeger as well as KNX-based systems (including Gira and Jung). Volume, sources, and favorites can thus be controlled via buttons, touch panels, or automated scenes.
• TV connectivity: An HDMI ARC/eARC input with CEC support allows synchronous switching and volume control directly via the TV remote control.

• Digital: HDMI ARC, optical digital input (Toslink).

• Speaker: Screw terminals, compatible with banana plugs.

System & rack integration (19' installation)

• Design: Two units can be mounted side-by-side in a 19' rack tray – also in combination with the sonoro STREAMER.
• Thermal management: A demand-controlled fan ensures efficient heat management during continuous operation.
• System display: The front display shows room names (also in standby mode), zone assignments and the current operating status.
• Service: A reboot button integrated on the front allows the device to be restarted without having to remove it from the rack.
