The medium-sized SPL stereo power amplifier Performer s900 is based on the large SPL Performer s1200 stereo power amplifier in terms of component selection and conceptual design.
Here, great sound meets performance data that perfectly suits high-resolution but not overly power-hungry speakers of any size. With an amplifier output of 2 x 370 W (4 O) [2 x 420 W (2 O); 2 x 200 W (8 O)], it truly has enough power reserves to drive any speaker powerfully.
Despite its compact size, the Performer s900 stereo power amplifier has an unparalleled headroom thanks to SPL VOLTAiR technology and pampers you with a detailed, lively, honest and musically outstanding sound.

The design – a question of good taste

Visually, the SPL Performer s900 stereo power amplifier fits perfectly into the SPL HiFi line “Professional Fidelity” – and is of course available in the three basic colors black, red or silver.

Plays in his own class

Conventional solid-state amplifiers quickly reach the limits of the components used - this results in unpleasant distortions. Tube amplifiers also distort in this limit - however, this is expressed by a rather softer sound. Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the Performer s900 can handle much higher levels without distortion. All components work continuously in the optimal operating range. The result is a very pleasant, natural and relaxed sound experience. Enjoy your music in every detail without listening fatigue.

Full speed ahead

In the Performer s900, separate voltage and power amplification stages ensure a stable operating point of the
amplifier circuit using Class AB technology. Thanks to the individual negative feedback path, feedback from the loudspeaker to the input stage is also excluded.
This allows the SPL VOLTAiR technology to deliver its full performance.

Free choice

The Performer s900 has a stereo pair of XLR and RCA inputs. This makes it compatible with all preamplifiers on the market without the need for adapters. The corresponding stereo input can be selected using the input select switch on the back.

Get fit

In relation to the Performer s900, "fit" means - as in English - adjusted. And you can adjust the input sensitivity in 0.5 dB steps. From 0 dB to -5.5 dB. In contrast to a panorama potentiometer in a preamplifier, this is the audiophile solution for rooms or speaker setups with acoustic problems. It is also the optimal working range for the speakers and preamplifier.

Strong connection

The speaker terminals can accommodate both banana plugs and a stranded wire with a diameter of up to 4 mm. No speaker with an impedance of less than 2 ohms may be connected.

AMP CTL

The standby mode of the power amplifier can be switched on and off using the AMP CTL connection between a preamplifier, such as the Director Mk2, Elector, Phonitor x or the Crossover. To do this, connect the 3.5 mm jack sockets with a cable with 3.5 mm mono or stereo jack plugs. Preamplifiers from other manufacturers can also switch the standby mode of the Performer s900 on and off thanks to its 12 V trigger input.

Better safe than sorry

The Performer s900 has a protection circuit against direct current and one against overheating. If direct current (DC) is detected, the output stage of the s900 switches off automatically and the Protect LED on the front lights up red. To protect the Performer s900 from the unlikely event of overheating, a temperature sensor on the heat sinks continuously monitors the temperature of the device. The TEMP LED lights up yellow if the Performer s900 gets too hot and switches it off until the output stage has cooled down again.

The VOLTAiR technology

VOLTAiR is the synonymous name for our 120-volt technology in the Professional Fidelity series. The audio signals are processed with +/- 60 V DC.
This is twice the operating voltage of the best discrete operational amplifiers and four times that of IC-based semiconductor operational amplifiers.
Thanks to the uniquely high operating voltage, the VOLTAiR technology achieves exceptional technical specifications in terms of dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio and overload resistance. This results in an unadulterated, absolutely relaxed listening experience.
