Hegel P30A Preamplifier

The P30A is nicknamed 'The Conductor' because its job is to drive a signal to the power amplifier so that it is as close to the music as possible. Hegel uses single-pair FET transistors that have no higher order harmonic distortion. Each transistor is carefully measured and tuned to ensure that they all have exactly the same values. This precision is critical to the preamp's performance and enables an exceptionally natural and detailed sound.

Efficient signal management and layout

The internal layout of the P30A is designed to keep signal paths within the preamp as short as possible and minimize distortion caused by electrical interference. With only two transistors and an extremely low noise volume attenuator, the music signal travels a minimal path to ensure the best possible sound quality.

Hegel's SoundEngine technology actively monitors the music signal for interference and corrects intermodulation distortion in real time during amplification. This innovative technology eliminates distortion and ensures outstanding sound purity and detail.

Consistent symmetry for minimal distortion

The P30A is symmetrical throughout, meaning each channel has two separate amplifiers, volume controls and SoundEngine modules. This design virtually eliminates any residual distortion and delivers a signal that is as close to the original material as possible.

Versatile connection options

The P30A offers a wide range of inputs and outputs, including balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs, as well as a fixed-level home theater input for integration into home theater systems. With additional connections such as a 3.5mm IR direct input and a 12V trigger output, the P30A is extremely flexible for integration into any audio system.
