Wisdom SA-3-DSP 3-Channel DSP Amplifier

The SA-3 series amplifiers from Wisdom Audio are designed for applications with high power requirements. They offer three channels, each with 500 watts RMS power at 4 ohms, with the ability to drive all channels simultaneously. The models feature a compact design, high energy efficiency, and, in the DSP version, comprehensive digital signal processing.

Both models—the SA-3 and the SA-3-DSP—are designed in a space-saving 2U (2RU) format and are suitable for installation in professional rack systems. They are entirely designed and manufactured in the USA, demonstrating high build quality and reliability.

Energy-efficient amplifier design

The SA-3 amplifiers achieve an efficiency of approximately 90%. Compared to conventional amplifiers, which often dissipate more than half of their input energy as heat, this results in more efficient use of electrical power. This provides more power for the speakers while minimizing heat dissipation in the rack. This feature also facilitates thermal planning in larger systems or when multiple amplifiers are operated in close proximity.

SA-3-DSP: Digital Signal Processing and Dante

In addition to pure power amplification, the SA-3-DSP model offers an integrated DSP module. This allows for the configuration of digital crossovers, parametric equalization, delay, and gain control directly in the device. It also features a Dante™ Audio-over-IP output, allowing integration into network-based audio systems.

These functions significantly expand the application possibilities, especially in modern audio installations with central signal distribution, where several loudspeakers must be precisely tuned to the room acoustics and listening position.

Connections and construction

The SA-3 and SA-3-DSP are both equipped with high-quality connectivity components. The DSP version also offers Cardas connectors and three 5-way speaker connectors, enabling precise cabling and versatile integration options.

The equipment also includes a rack mount, allowing the devices to be installed directly into standardized rack systems. The robust construction and well-thought-out connector placement enable quick installation and reliable operation even under demanding conditions.

The SA-3 series is primarily designed as a low-frequency amplifier for high-quality music reproduction and home theater systems. It is engineered to directly drive speakers with dedicated power amplification, improving both fidelity and dynamics. Direct speaker drive reduces distortion, increases clarity, and allows for more precise control of low-frequency reproduction.
