Wisdom SA-8-DSP 8-Channel DSP Amplifier

The SA-8 amplifier series from Wisdom Audio is specifically designed for high-channel-count systems such as those used in modern surround configurations or high-quality, discrete multi-zone audio applications. Combined with loudspeakers such as the Wisdom ICS3 Small Aperture In-Ceiling Speaker and the matching SUB-1 subwoofer, the SA-8 series forms a powerful and flexible amplifier platform for demanding installation projects.

Both the SA-8 and the SA-8-DSP versions feature a compact 2RU enclosure and deliver eight channels of power with 200 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms or 400 watts per channel at 4 ohms, with all channels capable of simultaneous operation. This power allows for use in a wide variety of applications – from traditional home theater and multi-room audio to professional installations in commercial or institutional environments.

Efficient thermal design

A key feature of the SA series is its high energy efficiency. With an efficiency of approximately 90%, these amplifiers contribute minimally to heat generation in the equipment cabinet. This allows them to be installed side by side in a rack without any major problems, without the need for additional cooling measures. This feature facilitates integration, especially in large system configurations where many amplifiers operate simultaneously.

SA-8-DSP: Advanced digital control and Dante audio

The SA-8-DSP model adds integrated digital signal processing to the classic SA-8 variant. The amplifier's eight channels are individually addressable in the DSP version and offer configurable active crossovers, delay, gain, and digital equalizer profiles. Furthermore, the model features a Dante™ interface for Digital Audio over IP, enabling integration into network-based audio systems.

These DSP features provide installers with a high degree of control and flexibility when acoustically adapting to specific rooms, speaker positions, or requirements in distributed audio systems. This makes the SA-8 DSP particularly suitable for precisely tuned setups in home theaters or professional applications.

Connection variety and rack capability

Both models feature eight balanced XLR inputs for analog audio sources. The DSP version also features digital Dante inputs, enabling fully digital signal routing to the amplifier. The flat 2RU height, combined with the included rack ears, allows for easy integration into professional 19" rack systems.

The robust housing is designed for long-term use and was developed for professional installations. The stackable design and sophisticated cable routing facilitate planning and implementation, even with complex system architectures.
