Everything as usual? No! Although the new MCD600 AC SACD/CD player looks quite similar to its predecessor, the inner values are completely new. First and foremost, this is a completely newly developed digital circuit, the heart of which is a brand new 8-channel, 32-bit PCM/DSD DAC . This works in quad-balanced mode, with four DAC channels being assigned to each of the two audio channels. The sonic output is an analog signal of superior sound quality.
In addition to regular SACDs and CDs, the solid die-cast aluminum tray can also play music from self-burned CD or DVD data carriers and USB flash drives. For optimal SACD/CD enjoyment, the drive in the MCD600 AC reads the data at twice the speed and stores it in a buffer with the aim of the best possible error correction.
The MCD600 AC upsamples PCM signals to 32-bit/384kHz . Numerous file formats are played, such as AAC, AIFF, ALAC, DSD (up to DSD128), FLAC, MP3, WAV (up to 24-bit/192 kHz) and WMA. Flash drives can be easily connected via the convenient front USB port.
The McIntosh glass front familiar to all hifi enthusiasts ensures that the beauty of the MCD600 AC will last for many years and the included Shunyata power cable provides the device with a perfect power supply .
