The aim was to improve the reproduction of the finest details and achieve a more neutral sound signature without losing the original, easily accessible character. The second generation thus sets new standards in terms of sound quality and audiophile enjoyment.

A natural evolution of Meze's first planar magnetic headphones, the first generation Empyrean, the Meze Empyrean II retains all the beloved elements of its iconic predecessor and adds a dash of sculptural elegance.

Precisely crafted by CNC milling, the frame features an elegant matte black finish with silver accents and a redesigned grille inspired by timeless Art Deco patterns.

The aim of Meze was to improve detail reproduction and achieve a more neutral sound signature without compromising the original 'easy listening' character. Through sophisticated tuning methods, better resolution and detail reproduction was achieved, setting a new standard for cleaner and more precise audio reproduction.

The reliability and durability of the diaphragm in the driver have also been improved to ensure exceptional performance even in demanding acoustic environments.

Architecture of the Isodynamic Hybrid Array Driver©

Two Isodynamic Hybrid Array drivers are symmetrically arranged within the ornate, glass-fiber reinforced ABS frame. These advanced drivers use powerful neodymium magnets in a unique hybrid arrangement to create a strong isodynamic magnetic field. This magnetic field ensures an even distribution of sound impulses across the entire surface of the diaphragm.

The membrane itself has an active area of 4650 mm² and weighs an astonishingly light 0.16 grams, which enables extremely precise and clear audio reproduction.

The ear cups - or more precisely, the frame - are made of robust, glass fiber reinforced ABS. This construction not only ensures durability, but also resistance to external influences. The driver is therefore not only a technical masterpiece, but also a guarantee of outstanding performance and reliability in every situation.

What makes the Meze Empyrean even more special: Two independently shaped voice coils are combined within the same diaphragm to provide a more selective acoustic performance at specific points on the ear structure and to adapt the sound to the ear structure with the utmost precision.

This unique combination maximizes the direct sound wave frequency over the 10 kHz range and improves imaging and stage positioning by reducing the effects of time delays caused by stray field reflections in the shortwave range.

By the way, each driver is made by hand and carefully tested in an industrial facility in Ukraine.

A design with anthropometric measurements in mind

The Meze – Empyrean features ergonomically shaped oval ear cups with an anatomical design. Like a sports car, the weight and material are light but extremely robust to optimize not only the user experience but also the quality of sound reproduction.

The formula for an F1 racing car or a high-end audio headphone is to optimize the power output and fine-tune it to ensure the best possible control - all while minimizing weight as much as possible. With an egg-shaped design, the frame is greatly reduced in weight and conforms to all ears with premium comfort.

The performance of the driver has been maximized by a fully custom-made coil and a special magnet arrangement that maximizes the active usable area of the driver within its oval shape.

Made from a sophisticated blend of high-quality leather and Alcantara, the Duo ear pads add a modern dimension to the Empyrean II's signature sound profile. One part of the ear pads is made of leather, the other part is made of Alcantara.

The result is a harmonious sound balance that runs through all music genres. And a flawless fusion of well-placed bass frequencies, thanks to the leather, with a wonderfully detailed and airy spatiality through the use of Alcantara.

Tilted Alcantara EarPods

Made from soft Alcantara-coated foam, the sloped ear pads are ideal for reproducing the finest details and nuances in your recordings. The sloped shape creates more space within the ear pad, resulting in an airier sound signature with clearer bass and improved midrange presence.

The SP3000T features innovative Digital Audio Remaster (DAR) technology, designed to deliver the finest sound at higher sampling rates. This technology enables impressive sound quality and ensures that every note is reproduced vividly and clearly.

DAR options and maximum conversion rates

PCM

• PCM files with a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz are converted to 352.8 kHz.
• PCM files with a sampling rate of 48 kHz are converted to 384 kHz.
• DSD files will not be converted if this option is enabled.

DSD

• PCM files below 96 kHz are converted to DSD128.
• PCM files above 96 kHz are converted to DSD256.
• DSD files below DSD256 will be converted to DSD256 when this option is selected.

The DAR function can be flexibly turned on and off, allowing you to adjust it depending on the sound source and your personal preferences.
