More and more air-supported radio signals transmitted by alternating current, in connection with overloaded supply lines and increasing demands on high-resolution audio and video components, mean that the public alternating voltage supply no longer meets the requirements. As a result, high-quality hi-fi and video devices suffer from a loss of performance in audio / video playback, and in the worst case scenario, such as high power surges due to thunderstorms and power interruptions, severe damage to the device.
On the basis of more than 20 years of research, Audioquest has created significant improvements in the quality of the power supply with the Niagara 1200 and thus ensures clear, noise-free and interference-free audio / video playback. Power supply for purists and indispensable protection of all high-quality electronics, whether power amplifier, turntable, CD player, streamer or computer!
Equipment features
Noise Dissipation System (NDS):
Audioquest's patented technology significantly reduces floor noise without compromising safety or creating low-threshold ground loops.
Linear Level-X noise dissipation:
Ensures the most even and broadband noise dissipation possible without the inconsistent results that stand for minimalist, resonant peak values with several nodes, as can be found in many AC converters.
Low-Z AC network inputs and outputs:
These inputs and outputs not only have excellent grip and the lower resistance of beryllium copper, but also have a heavy hanging silver coating to ensure the lowest impedance at radio frequencies. This enables a particularly effective derivation of disturbing noise.
Uncompromising surge suppression:
Accepts multiple transient power surges and spikes up to 6000V or 3000A (maximum that can get through a home or office power box). Damage from thunderstorms or power interruptions are practically impossible. Just plug it in and forget it.
Technical specifications
Overvoltage suppression:
wear-free (no damage after repeated 6000 V / 3000 A overvoltage tests on inputs, corresponding to the maximum that can reach a switch box in a building)
Cut-off voltage for extreme voltages:
140 VAC (activates the opening of the main high current relay in less than 0.25 seconds; is automatically reset once the incoming power is in a safe range)
Noise dissipation in transverse operation:
Over 24 dB from 20 kHz to 1 GHz, linearized for dynamic (increasing) line impedance with frequency (source) and 10 to 50 ohm load, depending on the system current
Input current maximum capacity:
15 A effective (total)
Mains outputs for linear filtering, high current and noise reduction:
3 (group one consists of the three isolated linearly filtered mains outputs, on the far right opposite the rear wall;
the following two are another set of isolated linear filtered power outlets; on the far left are the 2 isolated high-current outputs)
Number of network outputs:
7 (2 high current / background noise dissipation, 5 ultra-linear filtered / background noise dissipation)
Power consumption: Typical: less than 5 W at the 120 V AC input
