The MPC1500 uses a toroidal transformer specially wound to act as a low-pass filter to remove unwanted harmonic noise from the mains input and noise emanating from electric motors, dimmers and other sources of interference in the home. Because the MPC1500 uses a transformer, it isolates all connected components from the mains, allowing efficient mitigation of the noise generated in the 1 kHz to 1 MHz range. The MPC1500 thus maximizes the operating performance of all connected components. Superb manufacturing engineering and quality control ensure that the MPC1500's transformer runs perfectly smoothly and does not emit any audible noise.

The decision to use a more expensive transformer-based noise reduction solution with the MPC1500 results in an important co-benefit: this solution reduces the transient impedance of the network. The result is that all components (particularly the power amplifiers) can draw current more effectively when connected through the MPC1500 than when connected directly to the mains socket.
