The bridge to hi-fi components

The WXC-50 can easily be connected to a Yamaha amplifier with MAIN IN and Trigger In connections to control the power on and off as well as the volume. The remote control of the WXC-50 and the app ensure maximum ease of use.

Thanks to the superior Yamaha sound processing technologies used in the WXA-50 and WXC-50, excellent sound is assured from all sources. It doesn't matter how good the source material is, what environment is being heard in or what speakers are being used. A direct mode is also available for audiophile hi-fi lovers, with which high-resolution sources can be heard in their full splendor and quality.

Inside is an abundance of proprietary Yamaha audio circuitry that delivers uncompromisingly pure sound.
The pre-amp design effectively minimizes the undesirable effects of digital jitter and sound degradation in the circuitry behind the DAC.
The WXA-50 and WXC-50 use a proprietary power / ground configuration called 'DAC on Pure Ground'. It ensures excellent sound quality with high-end AV amplifiers and eliminates any loss of quality due to the power supply.
Conventional digital volume controls affect the quality because only a few bits are used. That's why Yamaha relies on high-precision 48-bit volume control. This is more than the resolution of the input signal, which guarantees the same sound quality as with high-quality analog controls.
Compact but powerful: A rigid chassis is essential for high-quality playback from low to high volume.

Player mode

If the volume is to be controlled via a hi-fi amplifier or AV receiver, the pre-amp mode of the WXC-50 can be deactivated.
It then functions as a pure network audio player. When the player mode is used, the signals do not flow through the volume control or other signal processing, so high-resolution audio signals are played back directly and unchanged.

Low power consumption

The WXC-50 consumes less than two watts in standby mode. When switched on, the power consumption is only 5 W for the WXC-50.
Even when used for a long time, it is environmentally friendly.
In addition, the 'Auto Power Down' function saves electricity by automatically switching the device off after 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours.
