Advanced technology in a compact form

The L8i is a line-source loudspeaker characterized by exceptional detail, precise dynamics, and consistent sound quality across the entire volume range. It shares the same core technologies as the larger Sage Series L75i model, but is housed in a more compact and flexible enclosure. This makes the L8i ideal for demanding installations in rooms with limited space or specific architectural requirements.

Planar magnetostatic high-performance driver

At the heart of the L8i are two planar magnetostatic line sources, each 60.96 cm (24 inches) long. These special drivers are responsible for the entire frequency range above 550 Hz – a large part of the audible spectrum. With six-octave coverage, the speaker delivers exceptionally high sound resolution, low-distortion reproduction, and a very wide dynamic range. The result is an extremely precise, clean sound image with excellent spatiality and clarity – regardless of the volume.

Advantages of line sources over point sources

Unlike conventional point-source loudspeakers, the L8i's line-source design creates a particularly uniform sound field. This largely eliminates distracting reflections from the floor and ceiling—a result that significantly improves localization and speech intelligibility. The even sound level across the entire height and width of the room also ensures a consistent listening experience at virtually every seat in the room.
