The Pyramid Ultra represents the logical acoustic and material-technical evolution of the proven Pyramid series. Designed for demanding audiophile outdoor applications, this passive 3-way system combines an uncompromisingly low-resonance foundation with precise, omnidirectional sound dispersion. Each unit is handcrafted with meticulous precision at the production facility in Schwerte, on the Ruhr River.

Materials science basis: Glass fiber reinforced concrete for absolute resonance-free construction

The acoustic reproduction quality of a loudspeaker is directly related to the rigidity, mass, and damping capacity of its enclosure. The Pyramid Ultra utilizes a compact monolithic enclosure made of advanced glass fiber reinforced concrete, which is modified with a special acrylic copolymer during the casting process. This material composition results in extremely high internal damping and minimizes unwanted cabinet resonances that could distort the sound in the midrange and bass frequencies.

With a weight of 51 kg, the housing provides an absolutely warp-resistant and vibration-free platform for the driver assembly. For lasting protection against harsh weather conditions, frost, and UV radiation, the concrete undergoes a double deep impregnation process during manufacturing and is finished with a subtle satin sheen. Complete acoustic decoupling from the surface is achieved via precisely calculated anti-resonance feet, which effectively prevent unwanted energy transfer to patios or floor coverings.

Acoustic concept: 360-degree radiation and dedicated deep bass.

The primary challenge in outdoor settings lies in the lack of walls to reflect sound. The Pyramid Ultra solves this problem with a true 3-way system featuring 360-degree horizontal dispersion. This ensures a homogeneous, perfectly balanced sound field across a wide listening area, without the narrowly defined "sweet spot" of traditional hi-fi systems.

Frequency spectrum and power data

The system covers a linear frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz. The deep, precise bass range is achieved by a separate, long-throw 8-inch subwoofer driver, which also provides a solid and well-defined foundation in an acoustic free field.

Midrange-high frequency section in coaxial design

A 6 x 9 inch coaxial driver handles the critical midrange and treble frequencies. The coaxial arrangement simulates a point-symmetrical acoustic center (point source). This results in outstanding phase linearity and precise spatial localization, meeting the standards of high-end studio monitors.

Electrical parameters

With a continuous power handling of 275 watts RMS (600 watts maximum peak power handling) at a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and an efficiency of 90 dB, this passive loudspeaker can be operated stably and with high dynamics on a variety of high-quality high-end power amplifiers.
