Reference AV processor with 8K HDMI and ARC® Genesis

The Anthem AVM 90 is a high-end AV processor for demanding home theater and multi-channel systems. As the flagship model of the AVM series, it combines powerful signal processing with state-of-the-art video and audio technology. The design aims for the most precise, unadulterated playback possible while maintaining high system flexibility.

High-resolution signal processing and DAC architecture

At the heart of the AVM 90 is a high-quality digital-to-analog conversion with 32-bit/768 kHz DACs. These enable precise conversion of digital audio signals with high dynamic range and detail resolution.

The signal processing is designed to minimize distortion and ensure consistent playback across all channels – even with complex multi-channel formats.

Support for modern audio formats

The AVM 90 processes current object-based audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced.

These technologies enable three-dimensional sound imaging, in which individual sound objects are precisely positioned in space. The processor ensures that this information is processed with high accuracy and passed on to the connected power amplifiers.

ARC® Genesis room correction

A key feature is the integration of Anthem Room Correction (ARC®) Genesis. The system analyzes the acoustic properties of the listening room using a measuring microphone and adjusts the playback accordingly.

Frequency responses are optimized, room influences are reduced, and loudspeakers are tuned independently of their position. Multiple profiles can be saved and recalled depending on the application.

8K HDMI 2.1 platform

The AVM 90 features a modern HDMI 2.1 platform with support for 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz. A total of seven inputs and three outputs (including eARC) are available.

Current standards such as HDR10+, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) are supported. Signal transmission is lossless, ensuring that image and sound information are passed on unchanged.

Multi-channel architecture and system expansion

The processor supports configurations with up to 15 speakers and four subwoofers. This makes it suitable for complex home theater installations with object-based audio formats.

In combination with power amplifiers such as the Anthem MCA 525 Gen 2 or other models of the MCA series, the system can be flexibly scaled and adapted to different requirements.

Streaming and connectivity

The AVM 90 offers various streaming options for integrating digital music sources. These include Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and Bluetooth.

These interfaces enable access to local content and streaming services and allow direct control via mobile devices.

Operation and system integration

Control is via a web-based user interface that provides access to all relevant functions. These include volume control, source selection, zone control, and fine-tuning of audio playback.

In addition, the AVM 90 supports IP and RS-232 control and can be integrated into common home automation systems. Appropriate interfaces and drivers are available for various platforms.

Power supply and internal design

The internal architecture is based on a stable power supply with a toroidal transformer. This ensures a constant voltage supply for signal processing and helps to reduce interference.

The entire design is geared towards clean signal transmission, low losses and reliable continuous operation.
