New: KEF LS60 Wireless

The LS60 Wireless is the youngest member of the KEF family and has a special feature: it does not require any speaker cables. Nowadays, this phenomenon is simply called wireless, overlooks the naturally necessary power cable and is happy that you don't have to lay unsightly copper cables or the like in the living room. The KEF LS60 Wireless even brings the source with it. The proven streaming technology from the LS50 Wireless is used, of course with operation via the KEF Connect APP, which is available for iOS devices as well as Android.

Anyone who predicted the demise of the hi-fi world and cited the usual Bluetooth, Airplay and streaming speakers as proof will be taught a lesson by the KEF LS60 Wireless, because here we are dealing with a full-blown hi-fi speaker that also has a higher sound quality requirements met.

Loudspeakers with a brain

The magic word at KEF is Music Integrity Engine, which brings together the Single Apparent Source configuration and other KEF acoustic technologies. The KEF LS60 Wireless is like a speaker with a brain that enables perfectly timed audio performance through digital signal processing algorithms. The famous Uni-Q chassis (fast and precise) has got the perfect player in the KEF LS60 Wireless.

Back to the actual chassis: KEF's top-of-the-range speaker Blade provides the technology to achieve the acoustic ideal of a point sound source in which all frequencies are radiated from one point. Point sources of sound achieve maximum authenticity through their speed. In addition, the sound quality is enhanced by KEF's proprietary Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™), which absorbs 99% of the tweeter's rear-radiated frequencies. The result is more quiet, resulting in a cleaner, more natural performance with negligible distortion.

The KEF LS60 Wireless is slim and with a height of 1.09 meters it fits most living spaces. A total of four 135 mm drivers are responsible for the basses, which are actually housed inside the narrow housing. Grouped into two pairs, the basses work back-to-back in a force-cancelling arrangement. This virtually eliminates cabinet vibration.

Streaming made easy

In terms of connectivity, the KEF LS60 Wireless is in no way inferior to its pioneer LS50 Wireless (or other Bluetooth speakers): You can stream from your cell phone or tablet via Bluetooth, Airplay 2 or Google ChromeCast. The integrated streamer can be operated via the KEF Connect app and thus enables access to music services, including uncompressed content such as Tidal, Qobuz or Deezer. Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect is also no problem for the LS60 Wireless.

Roon Ready is essential for anyone who wants to combine their stored music collection with the content of their favorite streaming services and own a well-maintained music collection. Roon opens up a whole new dimension of music data management, as well as additional information about music albums including cross-references to new music. So much for the integrated possibilities.

Enjoy TV with the KEF LS60 Wireless

If you want to hear your TV sound through the KEF LS60 Wireless, you can connect with an HDMI cable via the eARC HDMI port. The moment the KEF LS60 Wireless transmits the sound from your TV (provided the TV has an HDMI ARC connection. No problem at all for devices that are less than 6 years old!), the volume of the LS60 Wireless can be controlled via the TV remote control.

This makes operating the home audio/video system a lot easier, because nobody has to look for their mobile phone (for the app) or for the KEF remote control to turn down the advertising. Of course, you can also connect a CD player (preferably digital), your turntable (using a phono amplifier via the cinch connections) or your computer (via USB) to the KEF LS60 Wireless.
