Yamaha WXC-70A compact streamer

With the WXC-70A, Yamaha expands existing hi-fi systems with comprehensive streaming functions and modern connectivity options. This compact wireless music streamer can be connected to an integrated amplifier or receiver and provides access to numerous music services and streaming platforms. At the same time, traditional and external sources such as turntables, CD players, or televisions can also be integrated into the system.

High-quality streaming and versatile connectivity

The WXC-70A supports AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready, among others. Playback is directly from the respective apps. Numerous audio formats are supported, including WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AIFF, and DSD.

For connecting external sources, the WXC-70A offers an analog RCA input, an optical input, HDMI with CEC/eARC/ARC, and a USB port. On the output side, it provides analog preamplifier outputs, optical and coaxial digital outputs, and a subwoofer output.

ESS SABRE DAC with 384 kHz / 32 bit

At the heart of the digital signal processing is an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC. Processing takes place at up to 384 kHz and 32 bits. Yamaha's "DAC on Pure Ground" configuration creates a particularly clean environment for the delicate analog audio signals, supporting detailed and precise playback.

YPAO room calibration

The included YPAO microphone allows the WXC-70A to be adapted to the acoustic characteristics of the listening room. The YPAO room calibration includes a parametric equalizer (PEQ), Reflected Sound Control (RSC) for controlling early sound reflections, and YPAO Volume. This allows the playback to be tailored to the specific listening environment.

Two operating modes for different hi-fi systems

The WXC-70A can be operated in either preamplifier or player mode. In preamplifier mode, the unit's advanced audio technologies, including YPAO, are available. Player mode bypasses the preamplifier functions and is suitable for appropriately configured hi-fi systems.

HDMI eARC for the TV

HDMI eARC/ARC allows you to integrate TV audio into your hi-fi system with a single cable. Thanks to HDMI-CEC, compatible functions such as volume and power control can be operated via the TV remote. A Dialogue Level function also allows you to adjust speech intelligibility.

MusicCast for multiroom audio

As part of the Yamaha MusicCast system, the WXC-70A can be integrated into a multi-room environment. Sources can be selected, playback controlled, and different rooms connected via the MusicCast app. In addition to streaming services, connected sources such as TV audio or vinyl records can also be integrated into the MusicCast system.

Compact aluminum housing

The 220 × 73 × 267 mm housing is made of aluminum and designed for vibration resistance. An OLED display on the front provides clear information about sources and playback. Operation is further enhanced by the included remote control and the MusicCast app.

Prepared for professional integration

The WXC-70A offers various integration options for sophisticated audio and smart home systems. These include web setup for configuration via a standard web browser, a dedicated IR input, and a 12V trigger output. The WXC-70A is also compatible with Control4.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can be deactivated independently during installation. This allows for targeted customization of wireless functions to the specific system environment.
