The Concept MM is the basic configuration of the Concept turntable. This turntable already fulfills all expectations that one can have of a turntable. Anyone who has freed the Concept from its well thought-out packaging has already completed the most complex part of the installation. After removing the transport locks (foam on the tonearm, rubber), the strap is placed around the aluminum subplatter. The platter is placed on the sub platter via the mandrel. If the RCA plugs are connected to the phono socket or phono amplifier, all you have to do is plug in the mains plug supplied. Let's go. All settings such as VTA, offset, overhang have already been set at the Erlangen factory. This record player is ready to play and can be put into operation without any prior knowledge.
The core of the running gear body consists of medium-density wood fiber or layers of solid wood compressed under high pressure. The look of the coat is produced in four different colors and structures to match. The top layer of the drive consists of a special satin-finished plastic. This composition makes it possible to minimize resonances. The turntable is driven by a completely decoupled DC motor via a ground flat belt in order to avoid the transmission of noise. The power supply for this takes over a generously dimensioned, highly stable external power supply unit.
The concept tonearm
The tonearm has a wear and maintenance-free magnetic bearing without friction. The combination is completed with the high-quality Clearaudio MM or MC concept pickup (upgrade is possible at any time).
Clearaudio Virtuoso V2
The moving magnet pickups are repeatedly measured, analyzed and hand-selected on four levels. In this way, clearaudio achieves perfect homogeneity of the stereo channels and minimal phase or transient distortion. With a linear frequency response and high output voltage, this creates an audiophile sound of superlatives - spatial, rich in detail, multicolored and at the same time homogeneous and profound; with basses that don't boom and trebles that lack any sharpness.
The models of the clearaudio MM-V2 series convince in terms of sound on all common tonearms.
Except for the concept MM V2, which is made of aluminium, the socket of all pickups in this series is made of hand-polished ebony. As a result, record-breaking values are also achieved in terms of weight.
