Gold Note Pianosa – High-end turntable with B-5.2 tonearm and resonance-optimized chassis
The Gold Note Pianosa is an audiophile high-end turntable from Italy that translates numerous technical advantages from Gold Note's flagship reference turntables into a more compact and living-room-friendly design. High-quality materials, precise manufacturing, and a resonance-optimized construction combine with elegant Italian design. The Pianosa comes standard with the precise Gold Note B-5.2 tonearm, providing a high-quality foundation for demanding vinyl playback right out of the box.
The Pianosa's design is based on the Italian manufacturer's larger turntables. Gold Note combines traditional material aesthetics with modern high-end technology. The multi-layered chassis, made of wood, acrylic, and aluminum, provides a stable mechanical foundation and effectively controls unwanted resonances. This results in remarkable quietness, while the elegant finish underscores its premium character. Available finishes include gold leaf, matte black, matte black walnut, and white.
A particular strength of the Gold Note Pianosa lies in its harmonious tuning. The electronically controlled 12-volt synchronous motor drives the platter via a precise belt drive, enabling playback at 33 and 45 RPM. The electronic motor control ensures stable and consistent rotation. With wow and flutter of less than 0.1% and a rumble level of -80 dB, the Pianosa offers excellent prerequisites for precise and undisturbed vinyl playback.
For bearings, Gold Note employs the Split-Spindle™ design with a ceramic ball. The platter combines POM and aluminum, providing a solid foundation for controlled and smooth playback. The carefully matched mechanical components contribute to the Pianosa's musically cohesive yet precise performance.
With its standard Gold Note B-5.2 9-inch precision tonearm, the turntable features a high-quality tonearm base that supports accurate tracking. Those wishing to further exploit the turntable's potential can upgrade to the optional Gold Note B-7 ceramic tonearm. Its more precise construction provides additional stability, quietness, and fine detail, making the Pianosa a future-proof platform for ambitious vinyl systems.
Gold Note also offers interesting upgrade options for the power supply. An optional PST-1 or PST-10 external power supply allows for further optimization of the motor control and even better isolation from external interference. The PST-10, in particular, offers a high-quality way to further enhance the already precise motor stability of the Pianosa. This allows the drive to grow with your needs and the overall quality of your system.
Sonically, the Gold Note Pianosa presents itself as open, fluid, balanced, and exceptionally musical. Its reproduction is effortless and natural, without sacrificing precision. Instead of emphasizing the analytical nature of a recording, the Pianosa combines meticulous detail with a coherent musical context.
Voices and acoustic instruments sound particularly natural. Voices possess body and expression, while guitars, piano, strings, and wind instruments are reproduced with believable timbres. The stable mechanical foundation supports a clean rendering of the finest nuances without the sound appearing excessively cold or harsh.
In the bass range, the turntable impresses with control, agility, and a good sense of rhythm. Low frequencies remain structured and precise without sounding unnecessarily heavy. At the same time, the Pianosa retains the lightness and fluidity that decisively define its musical character.
The spatial representation is also well-balanced. Instruments are positioned with clarity and detach pleasantly from the speakers. The soundstage appears believable and cohesive without sounding artificially inflated or spectacularly staged. It is precisely this combination of spatial order, precision, and musical unity that makes the Pianosa a particularly versatile turntable for a wide range of musical genres.
The Gold Note Pianosa is therefore ideal for all vinyl enthusiasts seeking a high-quality Italian turntable with an elegant design, convincing mechanical construction, and a distinctly musical sound. Thanks to the standard B-5.2 tonearm, the resonance-optimized multi-layer construction, and the optional upgrades with the B-7 Ceramic cartridge and PST-1 or PST-10 cartridges, it also offers excellent prospects for future system expansions. Made in Italy and consistently designed for high-quality vinyl playback, the Pianosa combines technical precision with timeless elegance.
