The clearaudio CMB (Ceramic Magnetic Bearing) has been developed over many years of research and is based on a clearaudio patent.
Two homopolar, homogeneous magnetic fields arranged one above the other act in a small, defined space and repel each other. Despite the small radius of action, the magnetic fields are also shielded from the outside with highly effective materials.
A high-precision shaft made of polished ceramic is guided vertically in sintered bronze bushes. These components, which are also elementary for the inverted bearing, are adjusted by hand and with the greatest possible accuracy. A fully synthetic high-performance oil is used as a bearing lubricant.
The interaction of these selected components leads to an effect that makes the turntable of your drive almost float.
The result of the magnetic bearing is extremely low bearing friction, unprecedented rumble measurement values and a much smoother synchronization.
