Jeff Wayne created an entire musical from the poetic words about the end of the world, in which such fantastic artists as Richard Burton, Phil Lynott and David Essex took part. The result has been known since 1978: THE WAR OF THE WORLDS has sold over 15 million copies to date. Since 2018, i.e. for the 40th anniversary, the album is available again on vinyl. Burton is particularly noteworthy as a sonorous narrator with perfect timing and former Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott and his impressive performance as Pastor Nathaniel (a character that only appears in the musical). THE WAR OF THE WORLDS is a rocking musical with an apocalyptic mood that, despite everything, keeps faith in humanity high.
