Audioquest Chocolate HDMI
The Chocolate adds 2.5% silver plating to the single-wire conductor of its predecessor. Like all AudioQuest HDMI cables, the Chocolate uses solid, high-density polyethylene insulation and precise geometry. Special attention has been paid to maximizing HDMI playback - in fact, AudioQuest HDMI cables take sound reproduction to a new level.
MASSIVE 2.5% SILVER LADDER
Solid conductors eliminate distortion caused by the interaction of the strands and reduce jitter. Solid, silver-plated conductors are ideal for high-frequency applications such as HDMI audio and video. During transmission, these high-frequency signals remain almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Since this is made of high-purity silver, the reproduction comes very close to that of a solid silver cable, while the price is closer to that of a copper cable. This is a surprisingly inexpensive way to make very high quality HDMI cables.
MASSIVE, HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE INSULATION
Any massive material adjacent to a conductor becomes part of an incomplete electrical network. Wire insulation and circuit board material absorb energy (losses). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. The massive, high-density polyethylene insulation ensures the critical geometry of the signal pairs and minimizes the phase distortions otherwise caused by the insulation.
HIGH SPEED DATA CAPACITY
All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 10 meters in length meet or exceed the maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps for HDMI and are approved as 'High Speed with Ethernet' cables. This means that all AudioQuest cables up to 10 meters in length are able to carry 100% of the data required for any HDMI audio / video application, including high-resolution multi-channel audio, 1080p and 4k video and 3D video from Blu-ray. All AQ-HDMI cables carry 100% of the data required for 120 Hz / 240 Hz / 600 Hz displays.
ETHERNET AND AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL CAPABLE
All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 10 meters in length are classified as 'High Speed with Ethernet'. From 12 to 20 meters in length, the AudioQuest HDMI cables rank in the 'Standard with Ethernet' category.
DIRECTIONALITY
All audio cables are directional. Each batch of metal conductors for each AudioQuest audio cable is sampled to determine the correct direction of travel. Each individual signal conductor is checked for its digital audio direction; emphasis is even placed on running the conductors used in the audio return channel in the opposite direction in order to achieve the best possible reproduction here as well. The plugs are clearly and unambiguously marked with appropriate arrows to ensure the outstanding sound quality.
