AudioQuest Diamond USB – Reference digital cable for uncompromising signal purity

Since the introduction of the CD, digital audio technology has steadily evolved – and with it, the understanding that digital audio is far more than just ones and zeros. The AudioQuest Diamond USB marks another milestone in this development and is aimed at discerning music lovers who seek maximum precision, transparency, and clarity in the signal.

At its core, the Diamond USB uses solid-core conductors made of Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS). These solid conductors prevent interactions between individual strands, ensuring exceptionally clean signal transmission. The extraordinarily high purity of the silver virtually eliminates distortion at grain boundaries. Compared to high-quality copper conductors such as OFHC, OCC, or 8N, this results in significantly enhanced microdynamics and clarity, especially in complex musical passages.

Another key feature is the three-layer, carbon-based Noise Dissipation System (NDS). While conventional shielding merely dissipates high-frequency interference and can affect the device's ground, the NDS goes a crucial step further. Interference signals are absorbed and reflected within the shielding itself, before they reach the sensitive ground reference. The result is a more stable reference signal with lower distortion.

Additionally, the Dielectric Bias System (DBS) with integrated high-frequency noise trap is used. The constant electrical bias of the dielectric minimizes temporal distortions that would otherwise arise from energy absorption and release. The integrated RF trap – originally developed for AudioQuest Niagara power products – reliably prevents high-frequency noise from entering the signal conductors.

AudioQuest uses hard-cell foam for insulation. This material stabilizes the conductor geometry along the entire cable length and reduces energy loss, as the trapped nitrogen air pockets neither store nor release energy. This keeps the impedance curve constant, which has a positive effect on timing, resolution, and sonic stability.

The concept is rounded off by directional conductors, which specifically contribute to the reduction of high-frequency noise. In high-quality USB audio connections between computer, streamer, and DAC, the AudioQuest Diamond USB thus unfolds its full potential.
