The larger model in the CALA® receiver range is the CALA® CDR. Conceptually and in terms of features, it is built like the CALA® SR, but additionally boasts a high-quality CD drive, twice the power output of the CALA® SR, and a high-performance power supply. More than 100 watts of continuous power are available per channel, allowing for the operation of even large loudspeakers. The chassis is therefore larger and heavier, but still very compact and maintains the same design language and proportions as the CALA® SR. Since both units are equipped with the same motherboard, they also offer the same music sources and connectivity options.
Thanks to the powerful digital signal processor, operation is conveniently adjustable to individual system configurations. Unused inputs can be switched off, and the sensitivity of an analog input can be changed to function as a phono MM and high-output MC preamplifier. A surround pass-through mode is available for use in a surround sound system.
To achieve the best possible sound under various setup conditions and also when using smaller speakers, different sound fields are available. The bass management controls all settings when using subwoofer/satellite systems.
