The Drachenfels D supplements the detailed, light-footed sound of the analog model with a digital-to-analog converter of the latest generation. The Saber DAC from ESS on the four-layer circuit board, which is optimized against HF interference, has a digital S/PDIF or TOSLINK input. Low-loss mica capacitors on the main board and in the analog filter of the converter as well as ultra-fast amplifier stages on the converter board guarantee reference quality in pulse reproduction. With the introduction of the Linear in 2004, Lehmannaudio took music reproduction via headphone amplifiers to a new level of quality. The Drachenfels now stands for a new generation of headphone amplifiers: Our champion at an entry-level price scores with state-of-the-art technology and can always be adapted to new circumstances with its module options. The Drachenfels has a practical gain of 12 dB, which makes gain switching superfluous thanks to the smoothly gliding Blue Velvet ALPS potentiometer with high synchronization and the extremely low-noise circuit. The power switch on the front reduces the standby power consumption to less than 1 W in an environmentally friendly manner.
