Cambridge Audio pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers, contributing to improved performance. With Edge, they take this a step further, employing oppositely symmetrical dual toroidal transformers. This eliminates electromagnetic interference while delivering outstanding power and consistent tone at any volume.
Effortless performance without distortion
A standard Class A amplifier wasn't efficient enough for the Edge A. Cambridge instead augmented a conventional Class AB amplifier with a bias voltage to reduce distortion to an inaudible level. This specific configuration also generates less heat, making the entire system significantly more powerful.
High-resolution Bluetooth
Pair any Bluetooth device with the Edge A amplifier for easy music streaming. With aptX HD support, you can play your audio files in up to 24-bit/48kHz quality for an incredible listening experience.
tone controls
The Edge A was developed with a special circuit board. The engineers replaced the conventional capacitors with a DC-coupled topology and also equipped the device with a solid-state volume control. This results in a particularly clean signal that is balanced at any volume level.
