Our system consists of components that deliver the best sound. The result is an amplifier that brings the original recording to life like no other device.

Only 14 components in the signal path.

Despite the minimalist exterior design, the Edge W contains complex audio technology. In order to remove barriers between you and your music, we have taken great care to use the smallest possible number of components in the signal path. As a result, the Edge W faithfully reproduces the original recording with impressively detailed, three-dimensional sound and distinctive staging and focus.

Greater detail in music.

Cambridge pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers, which helped improve performance. At Edge, they take it a step further and use reverse-balanced dual toroidal transformers. This balances out EMI while delivering outstanding performance and consistent pitch, no matter what the volume.

Effortless performance without distortion.

A normal class A amplifier was not efficient enough for the Edge W. Cambridge instead added bias to a conventional AB amplifier to reduce distortion to inaudible levels. This specific configuration also generates less heat and makes the whole system much more efficient.

Edge Systems values perfect synchronization. Combine the Edge W with the most versatile preamp/network player (Edge NQ) to create a hi-fi system with sound reproduction and design that is second to none.
