The Hegel H200 combines powerful amplification, high-quality digital technology, and versatile streaming capabilities in a single, elegant component. With 2 x 150 watts of output power, an integrated DAC, network streaming, and an MM phono input, it forms the central control unit of a modern hi-fi system. Its analog amplifier section, featuring Hegel's SoundEngine2 technology, ensures low distortion and precise speaker control. Thanks to its extensive connectivity options, support for numerous streaming platforms, and intelligent operating functions, the H200 can be flexibly integrated into a variety of listening environments.

Powerful amplification and precise control

The Class A/B amplifier section delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and is designed to drive demanding loudspeakers. Hegel's SoundEngine2 technology reduces distortion in real time, while stable operation down to a minimum impedance of 2 ohms ensures confident reproduction even with complex speaker loads. A damping factor of over 4000 enables precise control of the speaker drivers, supporting well-defined bass reproduction and clear rhythmic imaging.

High-quality analog signal processing

Despite its extensive digital features, the H200 is based on a high-performance analog amplifier architecture. A balanced XLR input and two unbalanced RCA inputs allow for the connection of external sources such as CD players or separate DACs. The features are complemented by a high-quality headphone output and fixed and variable analog high-level outputs. This makes the H200 suitable both as a standalone switching center and for integration into existing hi-fi systems.

Integrated MM phono input

For playing records, the H200 features an integrated phono input for moving magnet (MM) cartridges. The phono stage is based on the MM section of the separate Hegel V10 and combines matched FET transistor stages with carefully selected operational amplifiers. Designed for low noise and precise signal processing, the circuitry complements the digital features with a high-quality solution for analog record playback.

Versatile digital playback and streaming

The integrated DAC processes digital signals via coaxial and optical digital inputs, USB-B, and network connection. Music files with up to 10,000 tracks can be played directly from USB storage devices via the USB-A port. The network connection enables access to streaming services, internet radio, podcasts, and local music libraries.

The H200 supports Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, and Roon Ready. The Hegel Control app allows you to control inputs, volume, and playback, among other things. Internet radio, podcasts, and music libraries via UPnP and USB storage are also accessible through the app.

Well-designed circuit architecture

The combination of digital and analog components places particular demands on noise reduction. In the H200, a careful circuit layout, optimized grounding and signal routing, as well as separate circuit boards for key digital components, help to keep unwanted interference away from the sensitive analog stages. The integration of the amplifier, streamer, and DAC into a coordinated overall system forms the basis for low-noise signal processing.

User-friendly operation and flexible integration

Features like Digital Input Sense activate the amplifier from standby when a digital signal is detected and select the appropriate input. Furthermore, volume commands from TV remotes can be learned. Individually configurable fixed volume levels for each input facilitate integration into home theater systems and systems with external volume control. Power-on and maximum volume levels can also be set.

Auto-standby reduces power consumption, while the display brightness can be adjusted to suit the listening environment. For integration into more sophisticated control systems, the H200 supports Control4, Crestron Home, and Crestron SIMPL.

Expandable and updatable

Firmware, app, and feature updates are installed automatically as soon as they are available. The H200 can pass digital signals to an external DAC via its coaxial digital output and DAC loop function. This allows the system to remain flexibly expandable, while streaming, source selection, volume control, and amplification are still managed centrally via the H200.

The Hegel H200 combines powerful amplification, extensive digital playback capabilities, and versatile connectivity options in an integrated hi-fi system. Its combination of SoundEngine2 technology, streaming, an MM phono input, and intelligent controls makes it a versatile solution for modern music systems.
