Hybrid amp with tube preamp
The hybrid integrated amplifier MA252 AC is new. So new it makes you rub your eyes in wonder at how McIntosh has once again managed to reinvent itself. Using two 12AX7A and two 12AT7 vacuum tubes, the first McIntosh hybrid integrated amplifier created an ingenious preamp section that transmits an outstanding signal to the very dynamic power amp section. All this encased in a design that represents a perfect symbiosis of classic and modern and that non-audiophiles will undoubtedly also be enthusiastic about.
Alongside the also new MA5300 AC, the MA252 AC is an ideal choice for smaller rooms, or for someone just starting to immerse themselves in the McIntosh sound world. Its special feature is undoubtedly the newly designed tube preamp section, which combines all the advantages of the "Vacuum Tube", such as the full, warm sound and the great stage image in its hybrid concept. The power amplifier part of the MA252 AC works as a "directly coupled" amplifier that knows how to deliver powerful 2x 100 watts McPower to 8 ohm speakers or 160 watts to 4 ohm speakers accurately and extremely dynamically. He also wears the very effective 'McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™' with the molded Mc logo.
The MA252 AC received a completely analogue layout, with two unbalanced, one balanced and one MM phono input. All four inputs can be named by the user for ease of use. Bass/treble controls help fine-tune the music, and a subwoofer output offers the ability to enhance low-frequency reproduction.
