Hegel presents the most versatile high-performance multi-channel amplifiers on the market - the Hegel C5 series. This series is available in three different versions to suit your specific needs. You can purchase the amplifier in a 3-channel, 4-channel or 5-channel configuration. This means that you can build a 5.1 or Atmos cinema system with one or more C5 amplifiers. Maybe you want to bi-amp speakers or use active crossovers? You can also power multiple speakers in a mastering studio, a restaurant or an apartment. In short, the C5 series is suitable for use wherever you need high-performance sound with dynamics and extremely low distortion.
Uncompromising sound quality
Despite its flexibility, the C5 amplifier series retains the full Hegel sound. The C5 uses the patented SoundEngine2 technology with numerous advantages. One of them is the possibility of low-bias operation, which means that the high-performance Class A/B amplifiers get less warm than usual. This allows installation in a 19' rack. Another advantage of the SoundEngine2 is the very high damping factor (over 2000). A high damping factor means deep, rich bass and complete control over the woofers. This is one of the reasons why the dynamic Hegel sound is so appreciated. But the most important thing is the low distortion. Hegel's patented SoundEngine2 amplifiers work almost like noise-cancelling headphones. All distortions that arise in the amplifier circuits are dynamically eliminated by reproducing them in negative phase. No matter how you configure the C5 series, it delivers a spectacular sound. Never hard or unpleasant, always natural, soft and with incredible dynamics.
Versatility and adaptability
The versatility of the C5 Series goes beyond the number of audio channels and usage possibilities. The ability to switch the phase for each channel individually or choose between different gain settings for each channel makes it much easier to integrate the amplifier into a larger system. The trigger input and output (for daisy chaining) allow the amplifier to be placed in a separate room without worrying about turning it on and off. The C55 is 3U high and features massive rackmount ears that are an integral part of the amplifier chassis. When installing in a rack, Hegel recommends 1U of clearance at the top and bottom. There are also adjustable and removable ears for rear mounting. If you don't choose to rack mount, feet are included in the accessory box, meaning the C5 Series can fit into any application.
