It plays SACDs and CDs as well as music files from 'homemade' CDs.
The USB audio input supports up to DSD256 and DXD384kHz and can be used to stream digital music from a PC or digital storage device.
The MCD85 AC features an 8-channel quad-balanced (32-bit/192kHz) digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Four DAC channels are dedicated to each audio channel to ensure truly exceptional sound reproduction.
It has fixed balanced and unbalanced analog outputs.
Disc handling is smooth and quiet thanks to a state-of-the-art transport with a solid and precision-machined die-cast aluminum tray.
For best error correction and tracking, the data is read into a buffer memory at twice the reading speed.
Power Control and Data Ports allow for seamless integration with other components of the McIntosh System.
