Sound quality, remastered

A new 8cm woofer and a new 2cm tweeter dome have been developed specifically for the new C70MK2. In addition, a new acoustic lens that has been adapted to the new tweeter enables even better resolution and further sound radiation for confident sound coverage in even larger living rooms.

The voice coil was lighter and air circulation was also improved. The woofer membrane also now has greater rigidity, which reduces partial vibrations and increases resilience.

A lighter dome significantly improved the high-frequency properties.

Acoustic lens

The shape of the new acoustic lens has been adapted to the new tweeter dome. The characteristics of the sound radiation have also been improved.

3 JENO engines

In order to be able to reproduce sophisticated sound signals faithfully via the 3.1 speaker arrangement, we have given the C70MK three complete amplifier units called “JENO engines”. The three amplifier units drive the left and right channels as well as the subwoofer discreetly and confidently, supported by the high computing power of the three units. Using “Space Tune”, the sound quality can be individually adapted to the respective room conditions.

Precise dynamics and excellent spatiality

LAPC

The speaker impedance changes with frequency and exposes the amplifier to constantly changing loads. The technology called “LAPC” (Load Adaptive Phase Calibration) corrects this effect by essentially balancing the speaker impedance using adaptive algorithms. It comes from the technology of the Technics reference amplifiers. The frequency response characteristics of the amplifier amplitude as well as its phase are thereby balanced, while the three amplifier circuits that drive the subwoofer and the two stereo channels deliver an ideal impulse response.

Eliminates noise and interference

Double power supply

Ordinary power supplies work with just one transformer, which supplies both the amplifier section and the digital signal module with voltage. If there are load fluctuations or noise occurs in one module, other modules are affected, which affects the sound quality. The C70MK2 uses a double power supply system, which supplies the amplifier and the other components separately with energy. This prevents mutual interference. The sound remains free of any impairments that can arise from noise or load fluctuations. In addition, the general structure is designed so that the transformer can supply its components with voltage via the shortest route, which also reduces noise.

Even more naturalness and expression in the sound

Remaster

The extremely precise signal processing of the JENO engine extends the frequency range of Bluetooth and Internet radio sources, where the high bands are lost due to compression, back to a frequency range that corresponds to that of a CD. This means that these sources sound fresher and have better detail resolution than in their untreated state.

Sound optimization depending on the listening environment

Space Tune™

The SC-C70MK2 uses the so-called Space Tune™ Auto function, which optimally adapts the sound of the system to the listening environment at the touch of a button. This feature measures test tones sent from the speakers through a built-in microphone to analyze the distance to the walls and the effects of reflections. The results obtained are used to correct the sound image. The Space Tune™ feature also includes three presets (Free, Close to Wall, Close to Corner) for simplified setup. In order to optimally adapt the sound image to the actual listening position, it is best to use the Space Tune™ function of the Technics Audio Center app, which enables optimization from the listening position

Connection diversity

Chromecast on board

The built-in Chromecast feature supports a wide variety of streaming services for easy operation from a mobile device. Since the actual music data is streamed directly from the provider's server to the network device, the sound quality is not affected. The mobile device is then only used to select a wide range of music from the streaming provider via its native app.

Compatible with Google Assistant

If a network device with Google Assistant works on the same network, built-in device is included in the same network, the Google Assistant can be used to voice control the SC-C70MK2. This is practical if the user does not currently have a mobile device at hand or if their hands are simply full.

Multiroom*1

If you have multiple Chromecast devices in your home, you can distribute a specific music source across all of those rooms. Completely different sources can also be played in your rooms.*1.

If you use the Technics Audio Center app and have one or more other compatible Technics network devices, you can also distribute other sources such as Bluetooth, AUX, optical digital, USB or Internet radio to other rooms.

Extensive compatibility

In addition to CD and radio (FM/AM, DAB+), the new C70MK2 is also compatible with Chromecast and therefore supports a wide variety of streaming services, including Spotify Connect and Deezer. Of course, internet radio is also on board. The C70MK2 also supports AirPlay 2, Bluetooth WiFi, playback over the network (DLNA), playback from USB sticks as well as from an analogue and an optical-digital source. This makes the C70MK2 a real jack of all trades. What you will also like: The user interface of our mobile app for iOS and Android, called “Technics Audio Center App”, has also been completely revised and is now even easier and more intuitive to use.

Favorites function

On the C70MK2 device, up to 9 station buttons can be assigned directly on the device. For example, your favorite internet radio stations, a Spotify playlist or songs from a USB stick can be saved here. This means you can enjoy your favorite music without an app.

The C70MK2 follows its elegant predecessor, the C70, and combines high sound quality with a clever design. The top of the casing of the C70MK2 now consists of a brushed aluminum plate that is anodized in a dark silver tone. This makes the design even more elegant.
