MAC7200 AC 2-channel receiver
The subject of receivers is taken seriously in terms of sound
When McIntosh presents a state-of-the-art hi-end receiver after a long time with the MAC7200 AC, you can be sure that it will definitely meet the highest in-house amplifier requirements. Of course, this is then in no way inferior in terms of sound to its siblings, which have to do without an FM tuner.
McIntosh has been building AM/FM receivers since the 1950s and has been in the premier league of tuner manufacturers ever since. The groundbreaking MR78 from 1972 is considered a classic of the high-end world. The MAC7200 AC's built-in AM/FM tuner lives on those famous genes, so it picks up radio stations with unparalleled clarity, free from hiss and distortion. Its signal quality monitor can display the noise levels of the incoming RF signal to aid in optimal reception. The FM tuner supports RDS (Radio Data System) and shows station name, artist and song. On the beautiful glass front panel, two harmoniously integrated controls help with the AM/FM station search and the storage of the 20 preset stations.
Based on the inner values of the MA7200 AC, which is also brand new, the "MAC" comes with powerful 2x 200 watt McPower. And like him, he wears the 'McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™', with the molded Mc logo.
To ensure that the MAC7200 AC can also work seamlessly with the ever-changing world of digital audio, all digital inputs are housed in the new DA1 digital audio module. The DA1 can be replaced with future modules to keep the MAC7200 AC updated with the latest digital audio formats and component technologies. It features an 8-channel, 32-bit DAC in quad-balanced mode and provides six digital inputs. The USB input accepts signals up to 32-bit/384kHz and supports DSD256 and DXD 384kHz. There are seven analog stereo inputs (1x balanced and 6x unbalanced), plus one vinyl input each for MC and MM.
For convenient operation of the MAC7200 AC, all inputs can be given user-defined names for system control and configuration. The MAC7200 AC has received many performance upgrades over its predecessor, including new, powerful microprocessors for trouble-free system operation and the latest sound-relevant electronics on the semiconductor market, which enable the MAC7200 AC to deliver its excellent sound. With 200 W McPower per channel, it has enough power to operate a wide variety of speakers with accurate sound and extremely powerful. In addition, the renowned McIntosh Autoformer guarantees that the transducers also receive full McPower, regardless of whether they come with 2, 4 or 8 ohms impedance.
Other McIntosh features in the MAC7200 AC include:
PowerGuard®
Monitors signal levels at the speed of light and adjusts as necessary to ensure high levels of distortion and clipping do not cause speaker damage.
S entry Monitor™
McIntosh's short circuit protection circuit which shuts off the power amp before current exceeds regular operating levels and automatically resets when operating conditions return to normal.
Home Theater PassThru
enables seamless integration into a home theater system. This turns the MAC7200 AC into a pure power amplifier, the volume of which is controlled by the AV processor or AV receiver.
High Drive Headphone Amplifier with Crossfeed Director (HXD®)
can add an extra sound dimension to the headphones.
Corrosion-resistant, gold-plated speaker terminals ensure a high-quality signal is always sent to the speakers
The MAC7200 AC overall unit embodies the timeless McIntosh aesthetic, with blue illuminated wattmeters, black glass faceplate, McIntosh logo and classy frosted aluminum finishing strips.
