Inconsistent power quality can cause costly damage to electronic equipment. With the MPC500 AC you can protect your audio world at home. The MPC500 provides cascaded surge protection and full mode AC line surge protection, e.g. B. from lightning strikes. It also protects low-voltage equipment from secondary surges and spikes that can occur after the initial event.

AC line protection is achieved through the use of three Thermally Protected Metal Oxide Varistors (TPMOVs), which are far safer than traditional MOVs and provide line-to-neutral, line-to-earth, and neutral-to-earth protection.

During secondary overvoltage events, the MPC500 protects your Ethernet, coax, and other low-voltage equipment via Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT), PTC, and Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) components. The MPC500 also features AC line electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression and over/under voltage protection that shuts down the rear outlets to prevent your connected devices from operating at unwanted voltage levels.

The MPC500 contains 4 type F1 (aka CEE 7/3 or 'Schuko') plugs. Control of each socket can be configured to your liking via the rear panel Power Control ports or via the front panel setup menus.
The front panel display can show the input voltage, the amount of current drawn through the outlets, or the total (apparent) power.

The MPC500 features McIntosh's timeless black glass front, illuminated logo, aluminum control knobs and end caps.
