Yamaha XDA AMP 5400

Specially designed to customize entire home audio systems, the 'AMP' is the partner amplifier of the Yamaha XDA-QS5400RK. Thus, he can increase the number of speakers and/or the maximum output power. It can also be used to drive secondary zone speakers on Yamaha AV receivers with Zone Pre Outs.

Sonic soulmates

The XDA-AMP5400RK - the 'AMP' - was designed to complement the Yamaha XDA-QS5400RK to provide additional speaker connections in an integrated multi-room audio system. It also pairs perfectly with Yamaha AV receivers that feature Zone Pre outputs.

The AMP packs eight channels of audiophile amplification into a remarkably flat 1U cabinet. This allows you to make optimal use of the space in your rack.

Incredibly versatile

Connect up to four sources from the QS pre-outs to the AMP - its four audio paths can be patched together to form a wide variety of speaker/zone configurations. The AMP features a variety of jumpers and cables that make it extremely versatile out of the box. Alternatively, the audio outputs can also be used to connect active subwoofers or subwoofer power amplifiers.

More power on demand

Each of the four amplifier zones can be bridged so that the power output for specific loudspeakers can be increased.

Audiophile amplification

The AMP uses highly efficient ICEpower circuitry to provide eight channels of the finest dynamic digital amplification at 50 watts per channel (8 ohms). It achieves a frequency response of 5 Hz to 40 kHz (+0/-3 dB) and a signal-to-noise ratio of 108 dB. It delivers 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms and can be bridged for 200 watts per channel at 8 ohms.

No more ground loop

The bane of custom-made products: the ground loop, a common problem when connecting many electronic devices in a rack. The QS addresses the problem with a brilliantly designed differential circuit. Sometimes what you can't hear sounds best.

Lots of power under the hood

The AMP uses balanced audio circuitry and PML capacitors like those used in our flagship AVENTAGE series AV components. The result is a more realistic, expressive rendition of your favorite music.

Versatile installation

The included rack wings allow installation in a rack, but can also be removed for shelf use. The magnetic front panel that is also supplied prevents unauthorized access and forms the perfect visual finish.

Harmonious together

When a QS and an AMP are shared, you can simply connect the appropriate trigger connectors to automatically turn the amp zones on and off—no additional controller needed. The AMP also works perfectly in tandem with AVENTAGE AV receivers. When using the AMP with other sources, signal sensors and infrared I/Os provide additional control flexibility.

Customizable connectivity

The AMP was developed with individual integration in mind. It features Euroblock style speaker terminals and a detachable power cord.
