Powerful amplification and precise speaker control

The analog Class A/B amplifier section delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Thanks to its stable operation down to a minimum impedance of 2 ohms, the A200 is also suitable for driving demanding loudspeakers. A damping factor of over 4000 supports precise control of the speaker drivers and a clearly defined bass response. Thus, the power amplifier combines ample power reserves with controlled and dynamic music reproduction.

SoundEngine2 for low distortion

Hegel's patented SoundEngine2 technology addresses the root cause of distortion. The local feedforward system detects unwanted deviations within the amplifier circuit and reduces them in real time. This includes crossover distortion, which can occur in Class A/B amplifiers. This targeted distortion reduction supports precise signal processing and detailed, dynamic sound reproduction.

DualAmp and DualPower for low-noise signal processing

DualAmp technology physically separates the voltage and current amplification stages. In addition, DualPower supplies the sensitive input and voltage stages, as well as the high-performance current output stages, via completely separate power supplies. This reduces mutual interference within the amplifier circuit. The combination of these two technologies supports low noise levels and stable playback, even during dynamically demanding musical passages.

Versatile connectivity options

Two balanced XLR inputs and two unbalanced RCA inputs allow for flexible connection to preamplifiers and other audio sources. Two analog RCA outputs are available for integrating additional components: one fixed and one variable output. This allows the A200 to be expanded with a subwoofer or another power amplifier, for example, and integrated into various system configurations.

Integrated MM phono input and headphone output

The integrated phono input supports moving magnet (MM) cartridges and allows for the direct connection of a compatible turntable. A front-mounted 6.35 mm headphone output is also available for private listening. This adds practical features to the A200's amplifier section for various listening situations.

User-friendly operation and home cinema integration

The A200 can learn the infrared commands of a TV remote control, allowing for convenient integration into daily use. For use with home theater systems or other components with their own volume control, fixed volume levels can be defined for individual inputs. Adjustable display dimming, auto standby, and a maximum startup volume setting round out the features.
